I cannot find a route I want to book. What to do?

Where will I meet the driver when I arrive?

Your can find your driver at Arrival area. The driver will hold a plate with your name and surname. Sometimes, especially on weekends, airports are busy, so take your time to look around.

What happens if I can’t locate my driver?

It is very rare that you can’t find your driver. Regardless, you can simply call our Emergency Department and they will locate the driver for you. You should not be worried as we have a triple confirmation system for all of our confirmed airport transfers. Your reservation is safely stored in our Reservations, Drivers and Emergency Department.

How to book

To make a booking is really simple. Just choose the type of airport transfer or the car you want to hire and make the payment. Paying in person is not a problem either. We only want you to double check your reservation details. Our booking system is really intuitive and fast we have seen even loyal customers making the mistake of selecting wrong pick up location, date or an hour. Double check your confirmation email info and let us know if something went wrong.

How do I pay for my airport transfer?

We accept all major debit and credit card payment. If you are a loyal customer the payments can be settled in cash.

Debit/Credit Cards accepted: VISA Debit, VISA Credit, Maestro, MasterCard, Discovery, AmEx

Cash payments: Euros, Bulgarian levs, US Dollars, British Pounds

Can I book a transfer with more than one stop?

Unless you request a stop our drivers are instructed to take you straight to your destination. It all depends on the weather and road conditions, which can prolong the transfer. Making a second or third stop is not a problem. Just ask the driver. If you have any medical conditions and require the driver to stop more often you can inform us while you make a booking.

What luggage entitlement will I have?

What we expect is one suitcase and one handbag per person. In case you have an excessive luggage such as ski- or snowboard bags you should inform us when you make your reservation. You can do this no later than 24 hours prior to arrival.

My group size has changed, can I choose another service?

We try to be as flexible, but we will appreciate if you inform us about any changes on your reservation as soon as possible. This should be done no later than 12 hours prior to your arrival or departure. Sending us an email or calling us stating your transfer confirmation number is the way to go.  We will appreciate if you do both.

Rent A Car

Can I get a quote without making a booking?

Yes, you can. Just send your request at reservations@airporttransfer-bansko.com to receive a quote. We have made our prices transparent, but if you want to hire a car for a month or longer we will be happy to give you an affordable price.

What car hire discount do you offer?

Our discounts are based on the term that your hire the vehicle for. It is a universal practice among rent a car companies and we are a no exception. The longer the term you hire the vehicle for, the bigger the discount. All of our corporate and loyal customers benefit from discounts as well. If you have used our services before the only thing you should do is to inform our customer support team at info@airporttransferbansko.com

Hiring the right type of car?

If you wonder what type of car do you want to hire, just call us or send us an email at info@airporttransfer-bansko.bg stating your exact needs. Our team will be more that willing to help you with your questions and doubts. We will provide you the most suitable vehicle.

Transmission
The only thing we could not help with is the transmission. We recommend that you hire a car with the same type of transmission that you are used to. It may seem easy to switch from manual to automatic, but the problem is that even after hours of driving, out of habit you may press the brakes hard and cause an accident. Switching from a manual to automatic transmission is something you should avoid.

Fuel Type and Fuel policy
We recommend that you rent a car you are mostly familiar with. If your car runs on petrol, it should be petrol. It will save you a lot of hassle and worries. We had cases when customer put diesel into petrol car and vice versa, so just do what is right. We stick to the full to full policy rule.

Space
Whatever vehicle you choose you should consider one with enough space for all luggage and passengers.

Location
Once you submit a request you will receive a confirmation email whether we will be able to provide you the car at the requested location. If we can’t we will find you a partner company service at the same price range.

Driving abroad

We have many customers, who while in Bansko hire a car to visit Greece. On the Black Sea Coast our rent a car service is used by customers who want to visit Turkey or Romania. If you are planning one such trip we will be more than happy to provide the vehicle and assist.

How old do I have to be to rent a car?

According to the Bulgarian law you need to be 18 years old to have a right to drive a car. For most rent a car companies, the age requirement is 21. and we would look to stick to that policy. We had problems with young, inexperienced drivers before and we would prefer to stick to that policy. You ca always send us request about the brand and model you want to hire and let us know about your plans. We could make an exception. We may require a young driver deposit of €36, which is fully refundable if there are no problems with the visual and technical condition of the vehicle.
Elderly people, aged over 70, should pay a surcharge, but again it is all subject to evaluation. We don’t like to discriminate our customers and charge elderly people more. We are just worried about your driving abilities, stamina and reflexes at that age. If we think that you are not a risky driver, you won’t pay a surcharge.

Baby or Child Seat

We will charge you 6 euro for Baby or Child seat. We do that just because it costs us a lot to buy, maintain, move and store these ones.
Type of seats we provide:

• 0 – 10 kg /22 lbs/, birth 6 to  months
• 0 – 13 kd /29 lbs/, birth 12 to 15 months
• 0 – 18 kg /40 lbs/, birth to 4 years
• 0 – 25 kg /55 lbs/, birth to 6 years

Rent A Car Surcharges

Out of town collection

We will not charge you if you are to collect the car within the city limits, but if you require out of city collection you should negotiate a price with our sales advisors. You can do that at info@airporttransfer-bansko.com or by phone at +359 898 631984.

Wi-Fi Hot Spot Device

Internet is a must and paying extra for a Wi-Fi Hot Spot Device is a good idea. In most cases your mobile operator has you covered, but in case your subscription plan does not include internet in roaming or you forgot to pay for the service, we recommend that you hire one. This is really useful for customers traveling outside the European Union. Our customers have experienced lots of coverage and connection problems on their phones. The choice is yours and the price is symbolic.

Ski Rack

The surcharge for a ski rack is 6 euro per day. Please, be careful where you park your car. We had a couple of incidents when ski racks got stolen or damaged. Parking in front of your hotel or at a paid parking lot solves the problem.

Additional Driver

We will charge you 6 euro per day for every driver apart from the renter. Families are exempt from that fee. We do it to restrict young drivers misuse.

Unlimited mileage

We rent cars per day and maintenance cost occur. We have set a generous 600 km/373 mile drive limit per day. In case you exceed that limit you will be charged 6 euro per day. We will appreciate if you tell us if you plan long distance trips upon collection.

GPS Navigation

We offer Google Maps based GPS Navigation Systems. It is an autonomous power supply device, which can help you avoid a lot of hassle especially if you plan to travel to Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna or any other of Bulgaria’s big cities. The surcharge is 6 euro per day.

Car damage surcharge

We rent cars. We don’t like to repair them and see them damaged. We check all of our cars for damages at return and if we find any we will charge you for them.

Snow Chains

Snow chains are a beloved safety precaution especially if you plan to travel to Borovets, Pamporovo, Melnik, Rila Monastery or any other place located in the mountains. If you haven’t used ones before we will show you how these are set. The surcharge is 6 euro per day.

Fuel Surcharge

Our fuel policy is part of our car hire contract. Full to full policy requires that you fill the tank before you return the car. We will charge you extra to top it back again and we will charge you more than they will charge us at the petrol station. We waste time and fuel to get to that station. Just return the car with a full tank. Play fair. Thank you in advance.

Delivery/Collection

Travel to Bulgaria

Travel Adaptors

There are two plug types C and F with F being the most popular one. Bulgaria operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz. Electricity supplies worldwide vary between 100V and 240Vs, so make sure to take a voltage or transformer converter in case your appliances use a different supply back home.
