Plovdiv airport is a small, regional airport. It is meant to serve South- Central Bulgaria, but it is only a couple of airlines that land there. The airport is boring with no shopping facilities or anything within a walking distance. What’s good about this airport is that it is in near proximity, only 16 km away from Plovdiv, which is the second biggest city in Bulgaria and a taxi may take you there for about €10. Plovdiv is beautiful, half a million city with rich history, plenty of attractions, cafes and restaurants. It is always lively, so consider paying it a visit.
